Police said the child, the family’s first, was taken from her cot by the rottweiler, one of two owned by the family, and suffered horrific head and facial injuries. RSPCA president Hugh Wurth said dogs often got jealous of newborn babies. Neighbours yesterday described the dog, which was impounded by local authorities, as aggressive. Sick parents!

Pit bull type dogs are accountable for a whopping 68% percent of all dog attack fatalities for 2007. The closest breed rival is the rottweiler at 13% percent.
